Western NY is home to many beautiful hardwoods, particularly Walnut, Cherry, Oak (red/white), and Maple (hard/soft). Through our connections with local suppliers, exotic hardwoods are also available such as Mohagony, Padauk, Pupleheart, Zebrawood, etc.

Walnut is known for its deep, dark natural colored heartwood and tight grain structure. Walnut is one of the most prized domestic species for furniture available.
We recommend a hard-wax all natural beeswax based finish, made in house to maintain the soft, smooth feel of this luxurious wood!
Cherry is a softer member of the hardwoods, and is abundant in WNY. Cherry darkens with age, and has a mild reddish tint, which turns to a dark brown over time
White oak has been used in furniture and construction for centuries due to its appealing look, hardness, and ability to withstand abuse. White oak has 2 main grain presentations, quarter-sawn which shows off beautiful medullary rays, or “ray fleck” common in “Mission”/”Craftsman” style furniture
Red oak is very similar to White Oak, and is available in the same grain presentations. Red Oak has historically been seen as less-desirable, but can be made just as beautiful as its slightly lighter cousin.
Maple is probably the most varied domestic species available, coming in hard and soft (which has more to do with density than noticeable hardness), as well as numerous variations including standard grain, birds-eye, curly (tiger-stripe), and ambrosia.
Maple is excellent for food-touching surfaces (cutting boards, tools) as well as for furniture.
